Garbage day in China Township is Friday.  Recycling is every other week.  Garbage day will change to Saturday when there is a holiday.

FROM ST CLAIR COUNTY ROAD COMMISSION

Fred Moore Hwy @ Wadhams Road will be closed for traffic starting July 31, 2019.  The intersection is expected to be closed for approximately 25 days.  Detours will be  posted.

I was also told that Friday July 12th, the letters were sent out to those residents whose wells will be tested, those whose wellheads are within a half-mile from the Landfill. Be watching your mailbox.

As we have discussed in the past, metals are naturally occurring in our environment and when you sample for metals in groundwater you typically get detection of dissolved metals in the water.

St. Clair County HomeSt Clair County Local State of Emergency Declared:  

Jeffrey Bohm, Chairperson of the Board Of Commissioners, declared a local State of Emergency due to widespread or sever damage to property caused by flooding in the Southeastern portion of St Clair County.  The potential of further severe flooding exists based on increased water.  

Homeland Security and Emergency Management continues to work with the local municipalities to assist with monitoring and response to the situation. 

If your home in impacted by flood damage, it is important that you contact the Emergency Operations Center at (810)989-6392 or via e-mail at  damage@stclaircounty.org.  Please indicate your address, phone number, foundation type, amount of water in your home and damage pictures in the email.  

For life threatening emergencies, please call 9-1-1.


The final Belle River Watershed Management Plan – all nine chapters – are now available online at www.sccwater.org. The Plan is available chapter by chapter, as well as the Executive Summary and the Log Jam Management Plan. If you have any questions please contact St. Clair County Health Department, Division of Environmental Health.
